yeah but thats not a product of a lack of advance in society or technology, that a product of inherently harmful sociological forces brought on by, essentially, racism, misogyny, classism, imperialism, and a general lack of mental fortitude

totally but isn’t psychology a science?

i mean that mostly falls under the worlds problems. if youre talking about things of convenience then i also disagree. the average ease of life has definitely gone up by each year in great amounts. and immortality is an important goal as well

people are having more and more anxiety problems as well. it’s skyrocketed and that’s not because people are faking it. it’s because life has gotten more stressful. i mean, yes, we don’t have to make our own clothing or take care of our own garden and food supply, but we are under the constant stress of our jobs or our schooling or just societies standards in general. we’re treated like cattle (cattle shouldn’t even be treated like cattle)… we aren’t supposed to be cooped up, we’re supposed to be free. sure, some things have gotten way way way easier, but overall, we are unhappier than we have ever been.

and tbh i get we cannot escape the want for immortality. it’s human nature to survive.

then what are you talking about exactly because the idea probably applies about the same

i’m mostly talking about our needs and wants. we’re making advancements in all fields of science that contribute greatly to other things besides human life. the things that are making headlines, for the most part, are all about living longer and that isn’t because it’s any better than the discoveries being made about space or our own planet. it’s like that b/c humans want to thrive and live forever, for the most part.

yeah because ur page is like 1000 pages behind my page. science is not and will not be the answer to the world’s problems for a long time, that is not the purpose of science and actually should not be

oncce again im rly not talking about the world problems as a whole. we r in completely different books.

uh that is because that is not what science is for. that is what activism is for. two entirely different concepts

i get what u r saying but that is not what i am saying. we r not on the same page
